According to the author, there is more to parenting children so relying only on the authoritative, authoritarian, permissive and neglectful styles of parenting children may not be enough to produce the actual required outcome of successful academic and social development in children.
To him promoting children's success involves the collective effort of both the parents, immediate family, the children and carers because there is apparently a direct relationship between the 4 variables and each variable can cause a tremendous rise or fall in the value of children's academic life, academic success and social development.
Therefore, parents, immediate family, children and carers play a very important role in the academic, social life and success of their kids, and this achievement or accomplishment can only be attained through collective collaboration between the four (4) variables in guiding our kids to become successful in their academic life, overall life and beyond.
It is in the light of above that the author felt the need to come out with a theory or model that will encompass all the four (4) types of parenting styles and so he developed and recommended a " 7 - PICC Model of Parenting Children" to all sectors of the society. The "7 - PICC Model of Parenting Children" is an acronym for PARENTS, IMMEDIATE FAMILY, CHILDREN AND CARERS.
The author believes that if parents employ the 7 - PICC Model of Parenting Children; it will foster intimate parenting relationships, secure attachment results in healthier parenting relationships, produce children with high self-esteem, more self-confidence, friendlier, obedient, proficient and very successful children.
